Priscilla T Graham

Priscilla T Graham is an American Documentary Photovangelist, Author and Speaker who specializes in historical photo books of buildings, settlements, neighborhoods, and places that have been forgotten in history.  Georgia native and Gulf War Veteran, credits her success to God, family, and faith.

Priscilla’s passion is storytelling through the lens of the camera… capturing timeless moments of life.  After her military service at Fort Hood, Texas and graduating from Texas Southern University, Priscilla had a life-changing experience. She attended a Juvenile Justice Conference in Austin, Texas where Congresswoman Shelia Jackson Lee said,” Too often when people need us the most, we give them our worst.” Priscilla was compelled to practice the more rewarding and personally satisfying ‘servant leadership.’

After managing the first YMCA in the country to be named after a professional sports team, Houston Texans, Priscilla soon became the archivist and social media manager for Freedmen’s Town Preservation Coalition and took many pictures of activities that have occurred during the efforts to save the brick streets in Historic Freedmen’s Town.

Through this process of activities and awareness, Priscilla realized that many settlements were written right out of history completely. She wanted to share with others what she learned about African American settlements in and around the Houston areas. This was the birth of her book series, Hallowed Ground, which features over 18 African American Settlements, 102 One-Hundred-Year-Old Churches, and 74 Harris County Historical Marker Locations.
